To get you covered, I spent three wonderful days in Hamburg with the ComeToHamburg Team. The idea of this trip was to find out, where the best Christmas markets are and what to do and see in Hamburg during the holiday season.
Christmas Shopping
If you fancy a day shopping, Hamburg is a great place to do so. Right in the city centre, you’ll find the finest boutiques and small craft shops full of different goodies. Head to Levantehaus to discover some traditional German shops and the famous CHANEL Boutique – the first boutique designed specifically for cosmetics in Germany, in which CHANEL offers its complete range of make-up, care and fragrances. Or if you’re on the hunt for the best deals, then Europa Passage and McArthurGlen Designer Outlet are the top places to visit and to treat yourself with something beautiful and unique!
Finest Restaurants and Bars
Hamburg is the place, where you’ll find some of the best restaurants in Germany. Spice up your life and savor some of the best food the city has to offer. Klein Huis and VLET are two of my favourite places to have a luncheon. Both of them serve the best of typical North German cuisine right where the heart of Hamburg beats.
Christmas Markets
In Hamburg stunning Christmas lights will be sparkling all the way just for you to create the most festive atmosphere. Busy sidewalks, the smells of nutmeg, cinnamon, citrus, and all the German delights will cheer you up, no matter how dreary and dull the weather may be this time of the year. And the welcoming warmth of a glass of spiced mulled wine after a long walk in the cold will make your tour of the Hamburg’s best crimbo decorations all the more magical.
Hamburger DOM
The Hamburger Dom is a large fair held at Heiligengeistfeld fairground in central Hamburg and definitely a must-visit place during the holiday season. Not to mention, it is one of the biggest and the longest fair throughout Germany with all the possible shows and attractions, it offers excitement for all children and adults. So definitely add this place to your bucket list. Indeed it’s a truly magnificent spectacle.
